Updated October 23, 2026
Robokiller is a subscription app built mainly around spam calls, with spam text filtering included in its paid membership. NoScams focuses only on scam texts: checks are free, automatic filtering costs $1.99 a month or $29.99 once, and nothing leaves your iPhone. If your biggest problem is spam calls, Robokiller covers them. If it's scam texts, NoScams is the lighter, more private option.

Where Robokiller is stronger
- Spam calls. Call blocking is Robokiller's core product. NoScams doesn't handle calls at all.
- Experience. Robokiller has been around for years and has about 414,000 App Store ratings averaging 4.5 stars.
- Supports older iPhones. It runs on iOS 15, while NoScams needs iOS 17.
Where NoScams is different
- Free checks, forever. Paste or share any text, email, link, or screenshot and get a verdict with reasons, no subscription needed.
- Cheaper automatic filtering, with a lifetime option. $14.99 a year, or $29.99 once. One purchase covers up to six people with Apple Family Sharing.
- Nothing leaves your phone. NoScams doesn't collect data. Robokiller's privacy label lists data linked to you, including your contacts and phone number, and identifiers used to track you.
- Every verdict explained. You see why a text was flagged, not just that it was.
Both work within Apple's limits
Every text filter app on iPhone only sees regular texts (SMS, MMS, and RCS) from senders you don't know. None of them can see iMessages or texts from your contacts.
Which should you choose?
- Choose Robokiller if spam calls are your main problem and you're happy with a subscription.
- Choose NoScams if scam texts are what bother you and you'd rather pay less, keep your data on your phone, and see the reason behind every verdict.
